WE ARE NEW BUT WE HAVE HISTORY
Stafford Homes and Land started when our two Principals, both developers; combined their efforts and began to seek out parcels of land for redevelopment. As Stafford Land Company succeeded in procuring build-able properties, the new 'homes' division was established and put to task. The first projects slated for construction were to replace run down, neighborhood eyesores with fine new homes that would enhance the blocks they inhabited. It was a good first step. People truly loved the homes we crafted, especially the ‘1920’s Sears Catalog Bungalow’ reinterpretation built on Harney Street in Portland. In fact that home sold the first day on the market
The desire to do NEW HOME CONSTRUCTION IN A NEW WAY matched up when there were a few choice parcels that begged for the type of homes we wanted to build. The QUESTION being “Do we sell the land to others or develop it ourselves?” ANSWER: We can do this! With that we began to build our first ‘community project’ in autumn 2014.
Our communities in Molalla, Canby, Silverton and Forest Grove showed us that buyers are truly excited to purchase a smarter, better built home. We also developed the 2016 NW Natural Street of Dreams event site, and built two award-winning homes for the show in Tumwater at Pete's Mountain. From building luxury estates to easy living ranch homes; we craft energy efficient, well-engineered homes that offer fresh new floor plans and real value. They are the very homes we enjoy building and what we want to live in.

Gordon Root - Principal + Founder

A 1981 graduate from Oregon State University, Gordon began his career in the land development business in 1984 through acquiring distressed real estate from the FSLIC. His experience is in land entitlements and development. He has entitled over 3650 lots, acting as principal in excess of $175,000,000 in real estate transactions to date.
Gordon was honored with the coveted “Builder of the Year” award in 2013 and has been actively involved with the prestigious NW Natural Street of Dreams. which is the nation's longest running luxury home show.
Rick Waible - Principal + Founder
Principal with over $170,000,000 in real estate transactions. Developed over 2100 lots to date. Multiple Award winner at 'Street of Dreams'.
After serving his country in the 325th Division of the 82nd Airborne of the Army, Rick was ready to begin his career in the construction industry.
In addition to residential building and development, Rick has also developed and constructed industrial and commercial property.
Rick has the ability to envision and rapidly develop housing options that fit on the available inventory of lot sizes.
Rick is always up to a challenge that employs his personality, expertise and talents.
